Competition Rules

Maiwand Martial Arts Competitions systems are divided as follows.


1. Individual Sparring System.

2. Team Sparring System.

  • Competition is an exciting part of your training experience in Maiwand martial arts, the competitors show their arts and ability of combat and fighting techniques that how they get a point with complete confidence with legal kicks and punches use of full power strike with hand or leg from their opponent and believe in your ability 100% and have no fear of clashing legs, and all strikes of punches and kicks must be with focus, balance, power and concentration. There are two fighters, red and blue. Both fighters wear protective equipment including: shin guards, arm guards, groin guard, body protector, gum shield, thin gloves and a head guard.
  • All fighting system should be practiced under full M.M.A rules. Instructors must ensure that their students are familiar with the latest MMA rules and competition procedures.
  • Protective equipment is compulsory for light-contact and full-contact sparring practice students must have all personal protective equipment… mouth, head, trunk, arm, leg, and groin guards.

Maiwand Martial Arts. Tag Team Competition System and Rules:

Maiwand national and international competitions tournament system shall be conducted in team competition system And all team competitions recognized by the MMA shall be formed with participation of each Club with 3 contestants in each weight class, the outcome of each team achieves majority of points and victories will be announce in end of all round.


Tag Team Sparring. Traditionally originated for Intermediate and advanced levels and allowed all kinds of legal attacks with kicks and punches scoring techniques above the belt to their opponent’s body shots and headshot is permitted with kick and punches.


Tag Team Competition General Rules

  • Both teams shall stand facing each other in line in submitted team order towards the 1st Boundary Line from the Contestants’ Marks.
  • Both teams shall leave the Competition Area and stand by at the designated area for each contestant’s match.
  • Both teams shall line up in the Competition Area immediately after the end of the final match facing each other.
  • The referee shall declare the winning team by raising his/her own hand to the winning team’s side.
  • Each team will consist of 3 players. Prepared with all equipment in their corner.
  • Which are 3 players in the red corner and 3 players in the blue corner.
  • In the tag team sparring there will be three rounds sparring held.
  • All fighters should prepare with full safety sparring equipment in their corner.
  • Teams who haven’t got 3 fighters will not participate in the competition.
  • No substitutions due to injury or disqualification.

Safety Equipment

In all Maiwand Martial Art championships the competitors must have the bellow saving guards.

  • Head Guard (Mandatory)
  • Mouth Guard (Mandatory)
  • Half Finger Gloves (Mandatory)
  • Groin Guard (Mandatory)
  • Chest Guard (Mandatory)
